PMMA - Plexiglass
Brand:
- Lightweight
- Clear and bright
- Easily polished, bonded, and thermoformed
- Stable and offering good resistance to weathering and chemicals
Interested in this product?
PMMA is a thermoplastic,
transparent and stiff material which can be produced either by extrusion or
casting.
Extruded sheets are available, upon
request, in IMPACT-RESISTANT version (25%, 50%, and 100%), which is an
excellent solution for applications requiring higher levels of resilience and
resistance.
BENEFITS OFFERED BY SHEETS
- lightweight
- clear and bright;
- easily polished, bonded, and
thermoformed;
- stable and offering good
resistance to weathering and chemicals.
APPLICATIONS
Their unique and essential
properties make PMMA sheets the ideal solution in many different applications.
PMMA sheets are designed to be hot
bent.
They are used in a multitude of
applications, including illuminated signs, displays, glass surfaces, skylights,
furniture, motorcycle wind shields, marine components, road and railway noise
barriers, aquariums.
TRANSPARENCY
Test method D1003.
Excellent luminous transmittance
properties, equal to approx. 92%.
AVAILABLE SIZES
Standard, transparent extruded PMMA
sheets are available in thickness ranges from 1.5 mm to 20 mm, 2050x3050 mm in
size.
PMMA sheets in Opal and other
colours are supplied as standard in versions with 3 mm and 5 mm thickness -
availability to be checked on a case-by-case basis.
Minimum order volumes apply to
versions with different thickness.
Standard, transparent cast PMMA
sheets are available in 3 mm and 30 mm thickness, 2030x3050 mm in size.
Versions with greater thickness may be supplied in different sizes and colours
- availability to be checked on a case-by-case basis.
WORKING TEMPERATURE
The maximum working temperature for
extruded PMMA is approximately +70 °C and it rises to around +80 °C for cast
PMMA.
